What is eSherpa?
eSherpa is a smart towing system that transforms your EV into a true partner for your motorhome.
Instead of being just dead weight when flat-towed, your EV assists with propulsion, harvests energy on descents and stop-and-go traffic, and even recharges itself as you travel. This means smoother driving, significant fuel savings in hilly terrain, and an EV that arrives with a significant charge to use at your destination, or knowing the full hookup on arrival the driver can drain the battery to fully maximize utilize the EV resources.
Our Proof Of Concept car is a 2013 Nissan Leaf
This early model has the maximum output 80Kw and max regen 33Kw with smallest 24kWh battery pack that can currently hold 15kWh maximum. With this car and the motorhome (2015 Mirada Pursuit 31BDP) in the Sierras our best was 9.91 MPG. In the last 4 years we tested eSherpa towing trough 16 states and more than 14K miles with the same vehicle. This car is also equipped with an onboard 110V inverter that can produce 2Kw continuous power from the HV Battery serving you as a portable electric hookup.
